Quotes and Testimonials

"Working with Northern Grid has been fantastic. After winning a Northern Grid award we presented at their conference which helped us build our confidence and go on to work on regional and nation projects.

Their support put us on the right path and helped us on our journey to making best use of technology to support teaching and learning. We wouldn’t be where we are without Northern Grid."

Amanda Gledhill, Deputy Head, Abbey Federation of Schools, Darlington

"Getting our broadband from Northern Grid removes a lot of the worry. I don’t have to research all the details, they have the expertise and do it all for me. Their support means I can focus my time and efforts on my priorities as head teacher."

Alison Chipchase, Head Teacher, Harton Primary School, South Tyneside

"The broadband connection and online broadband services provided by The Northern Grid for Learning and the National Education Network are essential and “mission critical” to the effective management of learning at Longfield.

Because The Northern Grid aggregates schools’ broadband demands and procures a high quality service regionally, they can deliver significant savings to each school year on year. This supports our annual budget planning as costs are sustainable and assured for a number of years. I believe that Longfield School receives excellent value for money."

Keith Cotgrave, Head Teacher, Longfield School, Darlington

"Moving local authorities to one without Northern Grid support immediately made clear to me the benefits I had grown accustomed to. Sharing planning, information & resources; being part of interactive learning platforms to communicate with children 24/7; being informed and updated of new developments and new innovations; receiving up to date guidance on e-safety. All of these things I no longer have and my new school, staff and children are poorer for their absence. Without Northern Grid to take the initiative on the behalf of schools’ like mine it feels like we are standing still whilst all around us technology is advancing and exciting new opportunities are passing us by."

Iain Williamson, Head, Dame Dorothy Primary School, South Tyneside
